Quality and applications

Why reconstructed tissues

They mimic human tissue structure and function more closely than animal models, give reproducible batches, and reduce reliance on animal testing.

How they’re built

e.g. RHE: 17-day cultured stratified epidermis from human keratinocytes; full-thickness models add a type I collagen dermis.

Typical applications

Regulatory toxicology, cosmetic and drug safety testing, efficacy claims such as whitening (pigmented models), and mechanistic research.
